Community interest companies (CICs) are limited companies that are set up to provide a community benefit or achieve a particular social purpose
CICs are regulated by a specific Office of the Regulator of Community Interest Companies and must have an “asset lock” to ensure that their assets are only used for their stated community objectives.

Polzeath Village CIC took over as employer for the Beach Ranger Service from St Minver Lowlands Council in April 2025
The CIC was successful in grant applications to Cornwall Council, St Minver Highlands and St Minver Lowlands. This has enabled the funding of the Beach Ranger Service until April 2026
The CIC has made representation to Cornwall Council for the devolution of Coronation Gardens to the community via the CIC
